Dear Colleagues,

We are very pleased to invite you to the third annual Fall Symposium presented by the Researchers of Biobehavioral Health in Urban Settings Today (RoBUST) at Wayne State University. The RoBUST transdisciplinary initiative has grown to include over 60 faculty representing a range of departments and disciplines across the Wayne State campus. The symposium will take place Friday September 29th, 2017 at McGregor Memorial Conference Center located on the Wayne State Campus. This year’s theme is “Biobehavioral Health Interventions.”

Over the course of the day, there will be a series of keynotes from leaders in the field who work with biobehavioral health interventions initiatives across the nation, including Drs. Jose Bauermeister of the University of Pennsylvania (“Linking geospatial and digital environments in HIV prevention and care: Is there an app for that?"), David Creswell of Carnegie Mellon University ("Mindfulness Interventions and Health"), David W. Wetter of University of Utah ("Developing Tobacco Cessation Interventions to Increase both Reach and Efficacy Among Underserved Populations"), and Elissa Jelalian of Alpert Medical School of Brown University ("From Efficacy Testing to Dissemination: Taking Obesity Treatment Interventions to Scale").

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all attendees in order to promote opportunities for collaborative discussions. This year’s conference will also include the return of “speed networking”!! This session is designed to foster innovative transdisciplinary collaborations.
