The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to offer the Research Development seminar series for WSU faculty, chairs & directors, postdoctoral trainees & graduate students, and administrators. Seminars are free but registration is required.
This seminar, Center for Urban Studies: What the Center Does and How It Can Help with Your Research Endeavors, will take place Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm.
The Center for Urban Studies facilitates a wide array of demonstration and research projects, using the latest techniques and methods, including:
- Quantitative and qualitative data collection approaches;
- Primary data collection, including computer assisted telephone interviews (CATI), mail and web-based surveys, field interviews, and focus groups;
- Statistical analyses, including multivariate techniques;
- Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Mapping;
- U.S. Census analysis;
- Community engagement; and
- Website and information system database development.
The presenters will review these approaches, and how they assist faculty throughout the University on community-based intervention projects, including site visits to homes to do perform physical measurements of lead, VOCs, PM 2.5, and other measures.
