This event is in the past.
Noon to 1 p.m.
The Division of Research & Innovation (DORI) has launched a monthly Research Lunch and Learn series focused on various research topics, tools, best practices and important updates for Wayne State University faculty.
The next event will be on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in 5057 Woodward, 6th floor, conference room A. Join us for an engaging Research Lunch & Learn session focused on SBIR/STTR grant funding—powerful opportunities to turn innovative ideas into market-ready solutions!
During this session, you'll learn what SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) grants are, including typical funding amounts (ranging from $50,000 to over $1 million), eligibility criteria, and how these grants can be used to support research, development, and commercialization efforts. Discover strategic tips for crafting compelling proposals that stand out, and gain insights into the application process from seasoned experts.
Our Tech Commercialization and Research Development offices are here to support you every step of the way—offering guidance on eligibility, proposal preparation, and success strategies to maximize your chances of securing funding. Whether you're just starting to explore SBIR/STTR opportunities or ready to submit your next proposal, this session is your chance to get expert advice and ask questions.
Don’t miss this opportunity to accelerate your research projects and bring your innovations to market.
This is an in-person event, and it will not be recorded. Registration is required by July 7th and is limited. A light lunch and refreshments will be served. Future Research Lunch & Learn sessions will be held on the second Thursday of the month from 12 to 1 p.m., and topics will be announced soon.
We hope you can join us for these important sessions hosted by the Division of Research & Innovation!
