Launch of the Grand Challenges
This event is in the past.
10:30 a.m. to noon
Please join us on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m. in the Student Center Ballroom, as we kick off our new Research Grand Challenges initiative alongside some special guests.
Led by Dr. Ezemenari M. Obasi, vice president for research & innovation, Wayne State has identified the four most-pressing challenges facing our world. This initiative will guide us as we address these challenges, advance bold ideas and accelerate scientific breakthroughs that leverage Wayne State’s innovative ecosystem and make a collective impact on Detroit, Michigan and beyond. From environmental sustainability and personalized preventative care to responsible AI and smart mobility, we will turn discoveries into outcomes that improve lives, strengthen economies and build a better tomorrow.
During this event, faculty, along with local, state and corporate leaders, will join President Espy and Vice President Obasi to discuss how the Wayne State community can collaborate with stakeholders and create opportunities to grow these focus areas.
We hope you’ll RSVP and plan to join us for this exciting and informative event. You’ll leave even more energized about – and armed to accelerate – Wayne State’s drive to solve society’s most urgent problems!
