Christine Ann Botosan is a member of the Financial Accounting Standard Board (FASB). Previously, she was the Dolores Dore Eccles Presidential Endowed Chair in Ethical Financial Reporting at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, where she also served as a professor of accounting, the associate dean of graduate affairs, and a leadership fellow in the office of the vice president. Prior to joining the University of Utah in 1999, Botosan was an assistant professor of accounting at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a lecturer at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. She has served the academic community in numerous ways, including as president of the American Accounting Association from 2014-2015. An award-winning professor and researcher, Botosan has a broad knowledge of accounting issues with particular expertise in the areas of financial statement analysis and valuation. Since joining the FASB, she has continued to work on issues related to the development of a conceptual framework for financial reporting. Botosan has been honored with the American Accounting Association Competitive Manuscript Award and the American Accounting Association Notable Contributions to Accounting Literature Award. She is a Certified Valuation Analyst and a Chartered Professional Accountant of Canada. Botosan holds a B.B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
