Join the staff of Wayne State University Press to learn about scholarly book and journal publishing. The symposium includes an overview of the publishing process from start to finish; how to go from dissertation to first book; how publishing articles in journals works; a discussion of open access and the impacts of publishing activity on careers and knowledge. Ample time to address your specific questions about publishing.
There will be a discussion of the similarities and differences between state's three university presses with the opportunity to meet editors and directors from Michigan State University Press and the University of Michigan University Press along with the entire WSU Press staff.
Campus representatives with stakes in WSU's contributions to vetted, fact-based humanities and social science research will speak about how and why scholarly publishing matters to them.
This event is entirely free of charge and includes morning refreshments and lunch.
