As one of America’s leading educators on dementia,

Thursday, Nov. 14, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (6 CEs)
Schoolcraft College VistaTech Center, 18600 Haggerty Road, Livonia

As one of America’s leading educators on dementia, Teepa Snow’s philosophy is reflective of her education, work experience, the latest medical research and firsthand caregiving interactions. Working as a registered occupational therapist for over 30 years, her wealth of experience has led her to develop Positive Approach® to Care techniques and training models that now are used by families and professionals working or living with dementia or other brain changes throughout the world.

Teepa will lead four sessions:
Pain and Dementia: How to Recognize and Intervene When Pain Is a Possibility will help professionals provide more effective and accurate assessments of pain status and possible medical emergencies when dementia is present.

Holidays or Other Major Life Events When Dementia is Involved will help family members, staff, friends, faith communities and community agencies better understand the impact of dementia on the person and their family during traditional celebrations, holiday festivities and family gatherings and special events.

Driving Issues – Signs that Say It’s Time to Stop and How to Help will help attendees better understand the issues related to dementia and driving.

Making Moments of Joy will help caregivers recognize and appreciate their role in creating days filled with moments of joy and meaningful activities when caring for someone with dementia.
