The rules governing lawyer conduct impose a professional responsibility upon lawyers to use their professional training to benefit under-served populations and communities unable to pay for legal services. The Wayne Law Student Voluntary Pro Bono Program helps students adopt this critical ethical obligation early in their careers while, in the process, reaping professional development benefits including exposure to a variety of practice settings and client bases, hands-on legal experience, a host of networking and leadership development opportunities and a valuable resume credential.
