Wellbeing 101 for Law Students

Noon to 1:30 p.m.
This workshop provides guidance for law students to manage stress and support their wellbeing, including:
- Stress and the Legal Profession - an overview of research on the impact of stress on law students and legal professionals
- Stress Management Skills - the essential elements of a stress management plan, including guided stress management exercises.
- Wellbeing Booster Plan - attendees will create an action plan to boost their wellbeing.
After attending this workshop, law students will have a better understanding of how and why stress impacts their performance + actionable tools that they can immediately use to support their wellbeing in law school and beyond.
Karissa Wallace, Founder of Mission Mastered Karissa Wallace is a wellbeing coach, teacher and speaker. She's also a corporate lawyer who has experienced burnout. She became a wellbeing coach to help legal professionals avoid the common burnout traps, moving from just surviving to thriving. Using the latest science and her own experience, she highlights the importance of career wellbeing and provides actionable tools for stress management mastery. Fueled by renewed energy, her clients are empowered to excel in high-stakes environments without sacrificing their values or wellbeing. Karissa is a venture capital attorney, and is building her practice at a boutique startup law firm in Detroit, MI. Prior to reentering private practice, Karissa was an in-house attorney for 11 years, first serving as Senior Counsel at DTE Energy, and most recently serving as Associate General Counsel at Rock (family office of Dan Gilbert) and in-house counsel for Detroit Venture Partners (a Gilbert-backed early stage venture capital fund).
