At the first meeting of the First Generation Professional Affinity Group (FGP), we will discuss its mission, short and long term planning, administrative structure, and trajectory for success. FGP is the first of its kind at Wayne Law. The organization is devoted to creating a space of genuine inclusiveness for first generation professional students. Through mentoring, resource sharing and building a supportive community, the organization seeks to ensure the success of all students, particularly those that are first generation professionals.

What is the single most dispositive quality that makes a difference in learning? It's not preparedness, pedagogy or the Socratic Method. It is a feeling of belonging. For too many first generation students the feelings of alienation, marginalization and self-loathing approach excruciating. Wayne Law is committed to building an inclusive environment for all students. Students should feel meaningful support, encouragement, and resource sharing.

Lunch will be provided. FGP is looking for all interested students, alumni and faculty.
