Recycling event

On September 21st, 2017 WSU Office of Campus Sustainability is partnering with Living Green Science to host a campus and curbside recycling workshop. We are challenging staff, faculty as well as the surrounding community to make a difference in our world by practicing waste recycling. Come and learn about the importance of waste reduction on our campus and our community and find out what you can do to help! Here are a few facts to think about!

  • Refillable water bottles are a good way to keep plastics out of landfills. Americans use 2,500,000 plastic bottles every hour, most of which are thrown away. At the workshop, you can learn about the new hydration stations that WSU installed to help reduce the use of plastic bottles.

  • Annually, 900,000,000 trees are cut down to be used for paper products. Americans use 2,500,000 plastic bottles every hour, most of which are thrown away. Come and learn how you can help reduce that number and make sure that your paper products do not end up in the waste bin!

Is recycling inconvenient and requires taking extra time out of your already busy schedule? Come participate in the workshop, request a curbside or an office recycling bin! If everyone gets involved then together we can make a difference!

Space is limited, please RSVP to the event.
