1/16/19 Compassion Fatigue 10:00-11:00AM

The stress of working with populations in crisis can lead to compassion fatigue and burnout in those offering aid to victims. Compassion fatigue describes the cumulative effects of working with traumatized individuals that contribute to secondary traumatic stress of the caregiver. It is important to recognize the signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue, put preventative measures in place and understand how to build resilience to future suffering.
