Warning Icon This event is in the past.

Date: November 11, 2019
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Location: Gullen Mall
Category: Special Event

Please join the Department of Physics & Astronomy & the WSU Planetarium as we observe the transit of Mercury across the Sun from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm on Gullen Mall, pending clouds.

Students, faculty and staff will have solar telescopes out which will allow you to view Mercury in front of the sun. The next transit of Mercury will not occur until 2032 (and the next one visible in Michigan will be in 2049) so participate while you can!

If weather is cloudy we will still have a streaming view of the transit inside the student center, and telescopes for you to look at.
