Eurythmy is an art of movement in which the elements of speech (vowels, consonants) and music (tones, intervals) have a life which can be revealed through gestures. Claudia will demonstrate some of these gestures and invite the audience to participate. She will perform the Entr’acte from Carmen by George Bizet with flutist, Laura Larson and pianist, Brenda Kee.

Claudia Fontana studied at the Eurythmy School of Vienna in Austria and after graduation became a performer for fourteen years, touring Europe, Scandinavia, Canada and the USA. She then turned her interest to teaching Eurythmy in various Waldorf schools in the USA. She now collaborates with musicians around SE Michigan in performances with Tuesday Musicale of Detroit, among others, and travels often throughout China where she is greeted by enthusiastic students, both children and adults.
