Objectives:

  1. Define specific terms including suicide, suicide attempt, suicidal self-directed violence, suicidal behavior and preparatory acts, suicidal ideation, self-harm, suicidal behavior.
  2. Describe the features associated with currently understood theories of suicide.
  3. Describe the features associated with currently understood theories of non-suicidal self-injurious behavior.
  4. Recognize the impact that current events can have on suicidal behavior.
