Mitigating COVID-19 in Jail Settings Community of Practice
The January CoP will provide an overview of jail facilities, especially for public health professionals to learn more about general and COVID-19 specific jail facility processes and policies. There will also be a Q/A opportunity for each presenter. The January CoP is the next within a series of monthly CoP webinars with the goals to mitigate COVID-19 in jails, and similar incarceration settings. Each webinar will feature facilitated discussions with stakeholders from across the country, while highlighting COVID-19 mitigation strategies in jail settings with key personnel (I.e., Jail Administrators, Sheriffs, Judicial Staff, Health Department Leadership, Infectious and legal experts, those with lived experiences), as well as, anyone interested in learning more about these strategies, or willing to engage in collaborative dialogue for new and rising strategies. These strategies include, but will not be limited to, testing, contact tracing, information and data sharing, and discharge planning.
