Webinar: Conflict resolution for people with Autism and Developmental Disabilities
This event is in the past.
The Center for Peace and Conflict Studies and the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Institute at Wayne State University are presenting a day-long webinar "Conflict Resolution Strategies to Engage Autistic Individuals, People with Developmental Disabilities and Caregivers". This webinar will teach participants to better understand how having a disability may make it more difficult to communicate in potentially tense situations. There will be a panel of autistic young adults, discussing how they handle conflicts and interventions they use to diffuse difficult situations. We invite participants who are sixteen years of age and older.
- Morning Session: 9:00 - 11:45 am: First responders, teachers, social workers and parents
- Afternoon Session: 12:30 - 3:00 pm: People over the age of 16 who have disabilities and their families
