"Hidden Signals: Comparing Nonverbal Synchrony in Cancer Treatment Discussions with Black and White Patients" 


Objectives:

1.  Describe the disparity in clinical communication between black and white patients.

2.  Demonstrate how patient and physician negative race-based attitudes may influence clinical communicatins and outcomes. 

3.  Compare patterns of nonverbal behaviors that occur between black patients and their physicians to white patients and their physicians.
