This lecture will give an overview of modern scientific views of the universe, its origins, its habits, and the place of humanity within it. The James Webb Space Telescope's advanced infrared detection abilities will give astronomers access to information that may better help us understand the origins of the universe.
Dr. David Cinabro is Professor of Physics & Astronomy at Wayne State University, and IPA at the US Department of Energy, High-Energy Division.
Wayne State University Planetarium is partnering with the Detroit Public Library on a series of presentations around the JWST launch, with support from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
