ALA @ Wayne State, WSU’s nationally recognized student chapter of the American Library Association, will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, 2/17 at 8pm EST.

ALA is heading west this month for a virtual tour of the Margaret Herrick Library, official library for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AKA the Oscars!!).

The Margaret Herrick Library is a world-renowned, non-circulating reference and research collection devoted to the history and development of the motion picture as an art form and an industry. Established in 1928 and now located in Beverly Hills, the library is open to the public and used year-round by students, scholars, historians and industry professionals.

Curious about what working at the Margaret Herrick Library is like? Submit your questions HERE (or email Megan Hakala at ey7847@wayne.edu) for Elizabeth Youle, Associate Director for Reference and Public Services. Elizabeth’s written correspondence-style answers will be shared during the meeting.

All SIS students and alumni are invited to this event - you do not need to be a member of ALA @ WSU to attend.
