The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History, Wayne State University (WSU), is pleased to present AWAKENING: 2022 WSU UNDERGRADUATE EXHIBITION, April 21 through May 5, 2022. The opening reception will be held Thursday, April 21, 6-9PM.
This exhibition celebrates undergraduate student achievements and their outstanding works created during the 2021-22 academic year. Students in Art, Art History, and Design launch their art into a new tomorrow with an array of mediums and techniques, reflecting sentiments of bravery and optimism.
AWAKENING is the first in-person Undergraduate Exhibition since 2019. Anticipation, endurance, and enthusiasm has fueled the artists’ creativity and multi-disciplinary studio practice during their time at WSU.
AWAKENING has been organized by the following students from the department’s Gallery Management Course: Amber Beasley, Olivia Durant, Clove Ellis, DaJanae Grayer, Cass Holowicki, Robin Jourdan, Elena Marcozzi, Legacee Mayes, and Meghan Marrow.
