The Wayne State University School of Social Work invites you to come meet, celebrate, and learn from the Black and Latinx males and community stakeholders within the Social Work Profession! We encourage current and incoming Black and Latinx male social work students seeking a way to impact their community via a flexible and lucrative career path to join us. We also welcome Black and Latinx male Social Work Warrior alums, faculty, and staff to connect and learn about ways to get involved.

Social work offers a variety of career opportunities. Come and chat with Black and Latinx male leaders in the field working as:

  • Therapists, Community Leaders, and Educators
  • School Counselors, Youth Workers, and Social Entrepreneurs
  • Law Makers, Politicians, Researchers, Professors, and more

Join WSU School of Social Work Advisors Lawrence Robinson and Geoffrey Jones as they facilitate this discussion showcasing the village of support available to assist Black and Latinx male social work warriors. There will be plenty of time to get all of your questions answered and chat with students, staff and community members about the upcoming academic year and life after graduation.

Social Work = Hard Work, Specialized Training, and a HEART dedicated to serving others

This special breakout session is part of the WSU Welcome Black Celebration 2022 hosted by the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement.

Are you unable to attend in-person? Consider joining us virtually on Zoom! Indicate your attendance format when you complete the RSVP form. The Zoom link will be sent via email after you complete the RSVP.
