2022 MOBILE ARTS WORKSHOP EXHIBITION
Dates: September 8 through October 21
Fall Hours: Wednesdays through Fridays, 12-5PM
The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History is pleased to present 2022 MOBILE ARTS WORKSHOP EXHIBITION at the Art Department Gallery, September 8 through October 21, 2022 with an opening reception on Thursday, September 8, 6-9PM. This event is free and open to the general public.
Mobile Arts Detroit held art workshops at nine community sites, July 28 through August 14, 2022. Participants created abstract compositions on panels with background patterns, middle-ground color fill, and fore-ground focal points using a variety of mediums and techniques. The individual panels were collected and pieced together to create larger art installations with a unified composition.
Artworks in the exhibition were created by participants at the following centers and parks: Adams Butzel Recreation Complex, Brennan Recreation Center, Crowell Community Center, Farwell Recreation Center, Heilmann Community Center, Mack Alive, Palmer Park, and Patton Recreation Center.
