TEMPEST Winter Kick-Off Event: Documentary Watch Party!

The TEMPEST Math Learning Community is hosting a watch party for a new documentary called “A Trip to Infinity.” A review in The New Yorker referred to the documentary as “math magic.” Please join TEMPEST and the College of Education as we gather to watch this math magical documentary together! We will provide pizza and snacks, TEMPEST and COE giveaways, and a lot of math and fun! See the attached flyer for more information and the below pic of one of the TEMPEST items we’ll be giving away at the event! You do not need to be a teacher education student to attend.

About TEMPEST: Transcending Equity in Mathematics for Pre-Elementary School Teachers (TEMPEST) supports students pursuing elementary or special education majors who are working through their mathematics sequence (MAT 0993, MAT 1050, MAT 1110, MAT 1120, and Math Foundations). TEMPEST helps students understand the mathematics as they transition from a mathematics student to a teacher of mathematics. TEMPEST students will benefit from on-going peer mentorship, field trips and workshops, regular study sessions, and faculty and staff support.
