Fundamentals of Health Insurance for People with Cancer

Michigan Community Outreach to Address Financial Toxicity (MI-COST) is a newly established community-academic partnership funded by the Michigan Health Endowment Fund. The goal is to develop educational resources to help people with cancer and their loved ones to manage the financial impact of cancer.
MI-COST is holding its first seminar on the Fundamentals of Health Insurance for People with Cancer on Monday, February 20th, 2023, 5:30 - 6:30 PM via Zoom. Seminar topics will include an overview of the main types of health insurance, COBRA eligibility, insurance appeals, explanation of common insurance concepts such as co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and more.
