Wayne State University School of Medicine Black Medical Association and Black Men In White Coats presents the 2023 Black History Program! As you may know, Black History Month is a time to acknowledge the significant contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout history. With that in mind, I believe it is important to take a closer look at the history medicine in regards to African Americans.

March 29-Dr H Gray, chair of Pediatrics - Black History in the Pediatric Experience and Dr M Hardaway (plastic Surgery) Black is Beautiful history in the Role of an African American Plastic Surgeon (confirmed)

April 7: Donovan Roy, vice dean of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, on "The African American Presence in Medicine: From Sports to Surgery," and Jonelle Moore on "The History of the Black Doula."

April 12: Felicia Randolph, M.D., on "The Impact of Blacks in Medicine and Residency,” and Greg Casey, M.D.., on "The History of Surgery From Imhotep to Modern Times."
