Mycotoxins: The Hidden Cannibas Threats
Noah Rosenzweig, Laboratory Scientist Specialist from the state of Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency, will provide an overview of Mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by some fungi. Mycotoxins are naturally occurring toxins produced by certain molds (fungi) and can be found in food. The molds grow on a variety of different crops and foodstuffs including cereals, nuts, spices, dried fruits, apples and coffee beans, often under warm and humid conditions. Mycotoxins and mycotoxicosis related to human health, plant health and the Cannabis industry will be discussed.
