"A Historical Look into Racism in Psychiatry"


Objectives: 

1.  Identify the history of racism and the role it has played in healthcare.

2.  Address the issue of Psychiatric misdiagnosis in the minority population and overall mistrust in the system.

3.  Discuss how to acknowledge our own implicit bias in diagnosing our patient population. 

4.  Recommend ways we can all prevent misdiagnosis in our Detroit populations.
