Chris A. Van Ee, PhD, Biomedical Engineering, Wayne State University

Bio

Dr. Van Ee holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Duke University and is a licensed Professional Engineer. His academic and scientific research has been focused on determining injury causation and evaluating injury prevention strategies. Biomechanical engineering is a subdiscipline of biomedical engineering that uses the application of mechanical engineering and physics to quantify the effects of forces on and within the human body, including quantifying injury tolerance levels and identifying injury mechanisms. His experience includes accident reconstruction and biomechanics of automobiles, all-terrain vehicles, and marine watercraft. Dr. Van Ee has authored numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters on impact biomechanics of the human body. His work has been featured on the BBC, CBC, and in the Washington Post.

Dr. Van Ee is an adjunct professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Wayne State University where he provides graduate student training and conducts academic research in impact and safety biomechanics.
