To kick off this Year of Focus, we invite you to attend the opening symposium on September 12, 2024 featuring a talk by Professor John Inazu, author of Learning to Disagree: The Surprising Path to Navigating Differences with Empathy and Respect. Following Professor Inazu’s talk, there will be a panel discussion and series of interactive activities designed to engage participants in dialogue. This event will also include free copies of Dr. Inazu’s book, lunch, and an opportunity to sign up for workshops and events taking place throughout the semester.

This event will take place in the Student Center Ballroom on the Wayne State University campus from 12:00-4:00pm on September 12, 2024. Visitor parking is available in Structure 2.
