Days After and Trauma-informed Pedagogy: Teaching in Stressful Times
This event is in the past.
There are a variety of global, local, and personal stressors that can impact students’ abilities to learn, including ongoing international conflicts and wars, weather disasters, political strife and elections, health crises, and private family struggles. In this workshop, we will discuss how to prepare for and respond to those difficult teaching days that come in the wake of these events. We’ll outline trauma-informed strategies for supporting students in their learning as well as their wellbeing. We will be joined by Stef Kastely, a university counselor from CAPS as well as Jennifer Moss, president of the Wayne Academic Union.
