We are pleased to invite the campus community and colleagues to Wayne State University’s Integrative Environmental Health Sciences Seminar Series. The series is hosted by Wayne State’s CURES P30ES036084 Environmental Health Sciences Core Center and the CLEAR P42 Superfund Research Program.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Shanique Brown, assistant professor of management at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York. She will present, "Optimizing Collaboration: Strategies for Effective Team Science."
Abstract:
Applying evidence-based principles and techniques for collaboration is essential to effectively integrating knowledge and expertise in transdisciplinary research. The Science of Team Science (SciTS) provides a robust framework of best practices and tools to support the development and success of research teams and science centers, addressing key areas such as team assembly, leadership, and professional development. In this interactive session, Dr. Shanique Brown will engage participants in exploring actionable strategies and best practices that optimize transdisciplinary collaboration.
Biography:
Dr. Shanique Brown is an assistant professor of management at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology from DePaul University. In her research, she examines cognitive processes (e.g., decision making, information processing) that impact how individuals and teams function and perform within organizations. Her research appears in outlets including Human Resource Management Review, Journal of Management, American Psychologist, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, and Aerospace Medicine and Human Performance.
