The Wayne State University Dual-Title Social Work and Infant Mental Health Doctoral Program invites you to join them for the Dissertation Defense of PhD Candidate Danielle Rice titled "Circle of Stories: Exploring Experiences of Black Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Professionals in Reflective Supervision/Consultation".

This dissertation explores how racial identity, psychological safety, and shared cultural experiences influence the engagement of Black Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) professionals in Reflective Supervision/Consultation (RSC). Using healing circles as a culturally rooted method of qualitative inquiry, the study centers participants’ stories to illuminate how reflective spaces can foster connection, healing, and professional resilience. The findings call for a deeper commitment to reflective practices that honor cultural identity, promote psychological safety, and sustain the well-being of Black IECMH professionals.

This is a hybrid event held both in-person and virtually. The Zoom link will be provided upon completion of the RSVP.
