Title:  Why Employers Like Math Majors

Abstract: I can almost guarantee no kid thinks to themselves, “I want to be a mathematician when I grow up.”  Most people say they hate math, and when I tell them that’s what I studied at Wayne State, I get the most confused looks.  Studying math and economics is more than just learning how to “solve for x” or finding the equilibrium price and quantity of a commodity.  I want to share with you my journey from studying math and economics at Wayne State to where I am now at GM, and how the skills I developed can translate into a myriad of opportunities for careers.
