The Wayne State University School of Medicine Women in Medicine and Science Group (WIMS) welcomes all members of our community to join us for a Special Interactive Discussion - "Women in Academic Medicine: Choosing Leadership"
Women and men in academic medicine enter and graduate medical school in similar proportions since 2003. However, women leadership roles vary in number, types, and position with much less representation in areas of clinical affairs and research. Attendees will be able to identify systemic and personal barriers so that they may embrace leadership opportunities when they arise. Learning to do both will lead to a culture change, ultimately, achieving gender equity in leadership within academic medicine.
