Economic development at Wayne State | New faculty seminar series
This event is in the past.
2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
As an urban-serving public research institution, Wayne State plays a unique and important role in driving economic prosperity in Detroit, and the Division of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (DEED) and TechTown Detroit play a big part in that work. DEED and TechTown are co-located in the university’s 12-acre Innovation District, which is anchored by the TechTown building, Industry Innovation Center, and I-Bio. Together, we are leading efforts to elevate the university’s economic impact, including through corporate engagement and a robust suite of entrepreneurship programs.
In this session, new faculty will learn about the various resources available through the Division of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development and TechTown, including:
- Community and corporate partnerships (everything from event sponsorships to learning-by-doing experiences)
- Collaborative workspace offerings, including co-working space memberships and drop-ins, suite rentals, event rental space
- Small business & tech startup services from ideation to scaling
- Entrepreneurial education services and trainings (available for students)
