AI in Action: Elevating Teaching and Learning in Healthcare Education- A Hands-On Workshop

When:
May 21, 2025
1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where:
Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
Event category: Workshop
In-person

Join a team from Health Sciences, Pharmacy & Medicine for a hands-on workshop that spotlights how AI tools—such as WarriorGPT, CoPilot, and Google Cloud—can reshape the way you teach and assess students. We’ll begin with updates on a WSU-funded assessment grant that uses AI to boost student success, followed by practical demonstrations of AI tools that streamline grading, personalize feedback, and reduce administrative tasks.

The workshop features interactive backward course design exercises, where you’ll connect objectives to assessments—a vital step for both accreditation and program-wide alignment. Along the way, you’ll learn policy guidelines and best practices (including HIPAA considerations for clinical disciplines) to help you confidently incorporate AI into your teaching.

Whether you’re new to AI or already experimenting with these technologies, this workshop will provide practical strategies to transform your courses and free you up for what matters most—meaningful engagement with your students. Come discover how AI can help you teach smarter, not harder. Register today and take the first step toward revolutionizing your approach to teaching, learning, and assessment at WSU!

Workshop Facilitators: Christine Kivlen, Aline Saad, Brittany Stewart, Martha Schiller, Diane Levine
