"Advancing Through the Professorial Ranks" will be an honest conversation about readiness to apply for promotion, and how to present your file in the most effective way. WSU Applebaum faculty Sara Lolar and Cathy Lysack will talk about how to put a strong foot forward with the written materials – and also how valuable it is to talk through the pros and cons of timing and readiness decisions with your department chair and trusted others.
This event builds on the fall 2022 event "Wildly Successful Women," an intimate discussion among colleagues led by Lysack and former WSU Applebaum Dean Beverly Schmoll during which stories of leadership accomplishments and challenges were shared. Through "Advancing Through the Professorial Ranks," Lysack and Lolar hope to encourage women in particular to understand how to succeed in promotion from assistant to associate to full professors. The event is open to all genders, and it will emphasize the academic advancement for clinical-track faculty.
There will be hot appetizers and wine, so please RSVP now so we can bring a glass for you.
