The Discovery to Cure High School Internship Program, an NIH-funded Research Education Program, which has been running at Yale University since 2003, is now running its third year at the C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development in the School of Medicine at Wayne State University. We are welcoming applications for the summer of 2023

The goal of the program is to provide high-quality life science research experience to qualified high school students and expose them to the excitement of biomedical research careers. Selected students are paired with a postdoctoral fellow, graduate student, or a research technician, who will mentor and supervise them as they learn a variety of research techniques and conduct an independent project over the course of eight weeks during the summer. Participating students must have completed their junior year, be at least 16 years old at the time of the program and must be only those who you believe are qualified and able to fulfill the requirements of the program.

We will be hosting an open house on Friday, March 17, 2023. On this day, teachers and their students will learn more about the program and they will also have the opportunity to ask questions. Further information about the program can be found at the official website.

Please note that in case there is a change in the current restrictions due to the pandemic it is possible that this program would be cancelled. We would update you accordingly. Please feel free to share this invitation to your students.
