More people sing in choirs every week than all other hobbies combined. Yet there is a crying need for well-crafted, high quality and accessible music for them to perform. If you conduct a choir in the public schools or a local church, and aren’t in love with the repertoire choices presently available to you, then why not create your own instead?

Choral composing and arranging isn’t a mystery limited to a few. It’s a set of skills that anyone can learn—and this course will teach you those skills, and how to apply them, step by step. Led by Dr. Jerry Custer, an experienced composer and arranger, this week-long intensive will walk you through text selection, creating melodies that sing, mapping the structure for your work, writing intros and interludes, and much more! Or, if you’d rather start by arranging existing tunes, Writing for Voices will show you how to create winning arrangements tailored to your specific group and their needs.
