Join us for an information session to learn about our MARC scholarship program!
Are you interested to pursue a Ph.D. in the biomedical sciences? We are currently recruiting new scholars for the Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Scholar Program at Wayne State University.
The program is designed to prepare scholars to thrive in biomedical Ph.D. programs after graduation from WSU.
The program includes a full-tuition scholarship, a stipend (salary) for a mentored research experience, a learning community, and travel funds.

We are looking for rising juniors (planned graduation date May 2027) with one of the following declared majors: biochemistry and chemical biology; biological sciences; biomedical engineering; biomedical physics; chemical engineering; chemistry; environmental science/geology; neuroscience; nutrition and food science; math; or public health or psychology to apply.
Rising sophomores (planned graduation date May 2028) are introduced to research careers through the pre-MARC program. Students selected for the pre-MARC Program will participate in the MARC learning community and will receive no-cost enrollment in an Introduction to Research Practice course (BIO/NEU 4990). Participation in the pre-MARC Program is not a requirement for application to the MARC Program but is strongly encouraged.
