Objectives:
1. Describe the neurochemical effects of Estrogen and Progesterone on brain circuitry and their relevance to mood regulation.
2. Discuss key longitudinal studies to explore the link between perimenopausal transition and depression.
3. Identify the clinical presentation of depression and overlap with core menopausal symptoms.
4. Describe the efficacy of antidepressants, hormonal therapy, and other treatment modalities.
