The 2023 Wayne State University Physical Therapy Research Symposium will feature a keynote talk, "Soft Tissue Manipulation: A Power Form of Mechanotherapy in Regenerative Rehabilitation," by M. Terry Loghmani, PT, PhD, FNAP, associate professor of physical therapy in the School of Health and Human Sciences at Indiana University. It will be held in the Applebaum Building auditorium.

Agenda 

Keynote abstract: Dr. Loghmani is a physical therapist, certified orthopedic manual therapist, certified massage therapist, and Distinguished Fellow and Scholar of the National Academies of Practice. Her research focuses on integrative health and interprofessional care, medical device development, and exploring the effects of physical therapeutics, in particular soft tissue manual therapy, on healing, repair, and regeneration in neuromusculoskeletal pain conditions. Dr. Loghmani is credited with developing a new field of study called Quantifiable Soft Tissue Manipulation (QSTM).

Student research presentations from Wayne State's graduating class of Doctor of Physical Therapy students will follow the keynote talk.
