Pediatric and Adult Airway Assessment & Management

This course, presented by the WSU Department of Otolaryngology, is designed to educate prehospital professionals, physicians and surgeons, emergency medicine specialists and allied health professionals about the assessment and treatment of human airway. Participants will learn how to manage difficult airways; appraise, reduce, and fixate fractures of the larynx, identify common airway lesions in both children and adults and discuss the management of these lesions. Participants will be able to learn the indications, technique and management of both conventional and percutaneous tracheotomy. A diverse group of specialists will speak on the most critical topics encountered by a wide array of practitioners. It is anticipated that many different professionals will attend this conference, including those from the fields of trauma surgery, otolaryngology, oral maxillofacial surgery, anesthesia, emergency medicine, respiratory therapy, pediatrics, family practice, obstetrics and NICU.
