This event is in the past.
MPSI Research Colloquia and Professional Development Series is pleased to present:
Assistant Professor

Awareness is growing of how childhood trauma and adversity impact health. Perinatal health and mental health services have a unique opportunity to intervene to address traumatic sequelae for pregnant persons to help disrupt intergenerational cycles of violence and vulnerability. Dr. Sperlich will provide an overview of how a continuum of trauma-specific perinatal interventions hold promise for promoting health for caregivers and their infants, and share lessons learned from research in advancing such interventions.
Dr. Sperlich completed her PhD with a dual-title in Social Work and Infant Mental Health at MPSI in 2014.
