Title: An effective criterion for Nielsen–Schreier varieties
Abstract: The classical Nielsen-Schreier Theorem states that every subgroup of a free group is free.
A variety of universal algebras is called Nielsen-Schreier if an analogue of this result holds.
It is well known that the variety of Lie algebras is Nielsen-Schreier.
I will talk about an attempt to describe varieties of Nielsen-Schreier algebras using the Grobner bases for operads.
This is joint work with V. Dotsenko.
