I will discuss the results of multiple projects that focus on the relationships among endocannabinoids in the circulation and brain function. I will make the argument that circulating endocannabinoids have the characteristics of a biomarker of brain endocannabinoid signaling.
BIO
Dr. Hillard serves as the Associate Dean for Research and the director of the Research Center at the University of Wisconsin - Madison since its inception in 2010. She was also the Inaugural Director of the Neuroscience Graduate Training Program from 1996-2010. Dr. Hillard’s laboratory is primarily focused on the pharmacology and biochemistry of cannabinoids and endocannabinoids. Her significant bibliography and frequent invitations to present attest to her reputation as a leader in her field. In addition, she was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Cannabinoid Research Society.
