Keynote lecture

This year’s keynote speaker is Alan C. Young, CPA, chair of the board of directors of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and founder of Detroit accounting firm Alan C. Young & Associates P.C. His full-service, minority-owned firm specializes in audit, accounting, tax and management consulting.

Young’s public accounting experience began in January 1977 with Deloitte & Touche (formerly Haskins and Sells). In 1993, he was acknowledged by the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce through its Detroiter Magazine as one of Detroit’s five emerging black leaders. He appeared on television as a guest tax consultant on various occasions with Mort Crim and Kathy Adams (WDIV) and has also been featured as a financial consultant and business owner on such talk shows as Detroit Black Journal, Financially Speaking, Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce’s Business Page program and Polaris Communication’s Color of Money.
