The October meeting of Future Librarians (FLID) will be held Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. EDT
The subject of our discussion will be DEI in Libraries: Applications and Responsibilities.
Ida Martinez is a STEM librarian and liaison to the Center for Latino/a and Latin American Studies at Wayne State University. She has integrated DEI work into many aspects of librarianship over her 20-year career. In this session, she will lead a discussion on how DEI work is manifesting itself in library position announcements, job applications, service, professional development and outreach. To generate questions and conversation, she will show clips from a webinar recording titled, "A Conversation with DEI Librarians," which was presented by the Association of Southeastern Research Libraries on February 11, 2022.
We invite you to come listen, learn, and chat with us! If you cannot make it to the meeting, we will post the recording afterwards on our Microsoft Teams channel (linked below) for you to watch at your convenience.
