Course Description: This workshop will provide up-to-date research about the psychological/emotional, social, and behavioral consequences of childhood trauma. Differential effects of various types of abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual) and of neglect will be highlighted. The developmental sequelae of the removal of children from the family home to placement within the child welfare system will also be discussed. This workshop will utilize small and large group discussions.
